The Scott County Sheriff's Office is one
deputy stronger on the street, because Deputy
Mark Isaacs is back from Iraq.

Attention motorist who travel Interstate 75, there has been many reported thefts, at the
rest areas both north and south bound at the 128 mile markers in Scott County. The
thefts occur after con-men convince people to participate in card games, or by telling
them they have won the lottery. The thieves steal money or other property that the
victims have by grabbing it and running off. The perpetrators work in groups of 3-5
people, mostly white males, they have been reported to drive an older white Ford
Crown Victoria or Lincoln Town Car and a green Pontiac or green Buick.
If approached by anyone wanting to show you a game or if they tell you they won the
lottery, get in your vehicle and drive away. Please call 911 and report the incident once
at a safe location.
There have been several reported thefts with similar details at local truck stops in the
last few months. Please call 911 if any of this activity is witnessed.
These criminals will be prosecuted when apprehended to the fullest extent of the law.
